About Daniel Okafor

Daniel Okafor is a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) with a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and over a decade of applied performance nutrition experience.

Before joining Clinical Nutrition Report in September 2025, Daniel served as Performance Dietitian for a Division I athletics program in the southern United States, where he managed nutrition periodization for athletes across track and field, cross country, and swimming. He has consulted for two professional endurance racing teams and remains an active member of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).

At Clinical Nutrition Report, Daniel is responsible for all coverage that touches sport nutrition, body recomposition, supplement evaluation, and macro-tracking applications. He authors most reviews of fitness-oriented apps and macro-counting tools.

Credentials in detail

Areas of focus

Daniel’s reviews emphasize whether nutrition apps actually serve performance-oriented users — including macro precision, customizable nutrient timing, and accommodation of training-day caloric variability. He is openly skeptical of apps that conflate weight loss with body composition.

Conflicts of interest

Daniel has received honoraria from two ISSN-affiliated continuing education events (2022, 2024). He has no financial relationships with calorie tracking app companies. He holds no affiliate accounts.
